We're back with terrain this month! And we have a very unique set for you! This is part one of three and will be the base of the next few sets. With this set our goal is to combine the best parts of 3D printing with the fun of creating custom terrain all while being quick to build and paint! Let's get into it!
This set is essentially decorations that you can apply to cardboard or foam core buildings. We've found the least fun parts to print are walls. They take a long time, use a lot of material and aren't customizable without knowledge of 3D modeling. And your board might grow based on narrative play or just wanting to change it up.
As part of this set we're giving you instructions on how to make 3 basic buildings and the instructions + upcoming video should help you get comfortable with using foam core or just garbage around the house to make buildings.
Now to cover mistakes and speed up the painting process we'll provide printable textures you can apply to your buildings! There is a wall texture and a floor texture! You can airbrush or paint on top to make it look even better!!
The last printed part are posters, banners and flags. These add variety and will make your buildings even more unique! Just with these printed components you'll be able to make some interesting terrain!
Parts for boxes aren't the only thing! We also have tubular parts that fit Pringles cans! It turns them into a nice sci-fi castle! These parts will fit on any tube like object with an outer diameter of 2.75 inches. Now with that out of the way lets get into the parts!
This is the upper trim to get the the top of your buildings perfect! They come in two inch and four inch sections!
These are barricades that you can put on top of your building to get cover! They are in two inches sections straight or corner!
Bottom trim helps you square out your bottom edge if you didn't cut it perfectly and gives you a nice variety of doors and a connection to our previous plasma pipes pack! These are also in 2 inch sections.
Barbed wire to add a sharp texture to your buildings! Comes in two inch and 4 inch sections.
Eagle parapets, stairs and a large door to spice up your creations even more!
And lastly all of the parts to add to Pringle cans! Similar to what you saw above but curved!
You'll see it in the video but Jay took it upon himself to build a custom building without following the instructions while also teaching Sean how to use foam core to build the basic building shapes! Sean's never done a project like this before but had a great result!
We're excited to continue working with Liqerise who did the concept art and made the paper textures/banners, and Radium Minis who sculpted the terrain decorations!
Most of the parts are printable in FDM for advanced users but you'll get better results with a resin printer. The pack will be fully presupported as is tradition and available here starting December 1st! With a video coming out about the project on Wednesday!
